I can’t complain. I’ve been getting some super fun projects to work on lately. Here is one I couldn’t wait to share here.
There is this music conservatory in my town very popular especially among kids. They have a good-size reception area where parents and siblings hang out while the students are having their music class, so the owner had the great idea to set up a “homework station” with a table and some chairs so kids who are waiting for their siblings can do their homework, or simply draw, color and play games.
I had to do the furniture hunting for her, so I went to the local Habitat for Humanity Restore shop and found the perfect pieces for our project. All for $110!
She wanted bright colors for the chairs and we also thought it would be nice to throw some music notes on the table decoration.
Nothing like Pinterest to find the best inspiration. Here is the final result!
I bought the decals from Etsy, and i think they gave a very special touch to this project.
Thanks for reading!
Patricia.

Thanks Barbara! My basic step by step to paint furniture is:
– Light sand the entire piece (120 then 220 grit sandpaper)
– Clean it really well (water and vinegar or water and TSP)
– Prime it (I like Rustoleum Primer Spray)
– Paint it (you can use a foam roller and a high-quality brush like Purdy or a paint sprayer)
– Seal it (I use Minwax Polycrylic, satin)
I have more in-depth tutorials in other blog posts and video tutorials on my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGZ4DF5ag6PocC3n0S-aYUw
Good luck!
