White and Gold Mid-Century Buffet

This is the kind of piece I paint, but can’t help feeling a tiny little bit guilty. It was another gorgeus mid century buffet, that (according to many people) I “ruined” by putting paint on it.
OK, this one had a hideous laminate top, so I guess that makes my sin a little more forgivable.
Truth is, I prefer the “after” version a thousand times. I’m sure many years from now, one of the guardians of the good wood will strip all the paint, sand it down, restain it and change its horrible laminate top for real wood, but right now, this beauty is ready to be admired and loved again for many years just as it is – wearing his brand new white and gold outfit.

This buffet was primed with Rustoleum primer spray, and painted with Benjamin More pure white semi-gloss. Sealed with Minwax polycrylic spray.

**My customer already sent me a picture of it in her beautiful house!**

See you soon,

It all started in the spring of 2013. I realized how tired I was to see my house entirely decorated with IKEA stuff. Nothing against IKEA, but after 12 years, I just needed some change. I wanted stylish, original furniture, but noticed that everything I liked from retail stores was way out of my budget. Thanks to Google, Youtube, and a couple of amazing blogs, I was able to discover and explore the world of furniture refinishing, and it was the beginning of my addiction. I now spend my days rescuing old, dull, unwanted pieces of furniture to give them a fresh look so they can be displayed, used and loved again for many more years to come. Thanks for stopping by.
