I am crazy about mid century pieces that are transformed into shiny, bright, colorful works of art. My apologies to the purists but I LOVE a good, well done mid-century furniture makeover. They make me smile, and I have been trying to find the right piece for a long time, so that I could paint it in the brightest color I put my hands on.
This beautiful dresser finally showed up on Craigslist a few weeks ago, and I grabbed it just a couple hours after it was listed.
My color choice was “Blazing Orange” by Benjamin Moore.
The original hardware is stunning, and it was totally hidden under years of grease, dust, fingerprints, and negligence. Look how beautiful it looks after a good, deep cleaning.
I also prepared some material to make another video tutorial showing how I painted this dresser. It’s ready and on YouTube! See it at the bottom of this post. This video thing is hard work, but after such great feedback I received from my first one, I plan to do it more often.
For now, I hope these pictures will also put a smile on your face.
And here is the video on how I refinished it. I hope you enjoy it.
Love,
Patricia.
